Another Adventure: I'm Becoming a Pilates Teacher!

When was the last time you did something that made you feel fully, delightfully present in your own body?
I’m thrilled to share that I’m currently enrolled in the Polestar Pilates Teacher Certification Program—something I never would have predicted a few years ago, yet now feels like the most natural next step in my life and work.
Pilates found me at a time when my body was sending increasingly loud messages. I had a lingering back injury that just wouldn’t heal no matter how many professionals I saw or things I tried. What finally made the difference wasn’t pushing harder—it was learning to slow down, tune in, and actually listen to my body.
Pilates has become my bridge to healing. And it brings me joy to move my body safely and help others move theirs.
As many of you know, as a coach I help high-achievers reconnect with the parts of themselves long buried under busyness, expectations, and the never-ending to-do list. And what I love most is how naturally Pilates weaves into that work.
Because so many of us live from the neck up. We’re distracted, rushed, constantly “on,” and rarely grounded. Being in our bodies can feel… foreign. Pilates is a beautiful antidote. It brings us back into the present. It softens stress. It builds a quiet, steady confidence from the inside out. It reminds us that our bodies aren’t machines to push—they’re homes to return to.
I can’t wait to integrate more movement-based embodiment into my coaching practice—and to share what I’m learning with anyone who’s craving a more grounded, alive way of moving through the world.
And in the spirit of following what feels aligned and life-giving, I’m excited to share that I’ve also joined Anne-Marie and Jill at Eternity Pilates here in Rossland as an instructor-in-training.
These two extraordinary women have created a space that is calm, welcoming, and deeply nurturing—a place where people come to reconnect with themselves. Teaching alongside them feels like stepping into a community that shares my values of presence, compassion, and listening to the wisdom of the body.
I’m so grateful to be learning from them, and even more grateful to be part of a studio that feels like home already.
