My Story

“Our obligation to survive and flourish is owed not just to ourselves, but also to the cosmos, ancient and vast, from which we spring.”
—Carl Sagan, Cosmos: A Personal Voyage

For most of my adult life, I was in and out of burnout. I didn’t know how to stop, how to rest, or how to just be. My mind was always racing, sleep was elusive, and I lived in a constant state of overachievement, perfectionism, and people-pleasing. I did what was expected—university, law school, a demanding legal career in private practice and then in-house with multinational companies in fast-paced industries. From the outside, I was “successful.”

But inside, I was exhausted. Disconnected. Living from my head and not my heart.

And then, everything in my life changed when I crashed my mountain bike. What seemed like a low-key ride ended in a major injury that forced me to slow down—really slow down. As I lay still, healing, I realized how much of my identity had been built around pushing through, performing, and proving myself. It wasn’t just my body that needed repair—it was time to take a closer look at how I was living.

That accident became a turning point. It was the pause I didn’t know I needed. Forced to stop everything, I started sleeping again. I reconnected with friends and family. I began to feel joy, stillness, and a sense of clarity I hadn’t felt in years. For the first time in a long time, I could breathe. How had I forgotten to breathe?

While I was healing my injured spine and body, I also began healing something deeper: my spirit. Through coaching and therapy, I found the support and nourishment I’d long been craving. That healing process cracked me open. It invited me to explore my inner world with more tenderness and curiosity, and it sparked a new understanding of what it means to live in alignment—with self, values, and what truly matters to me.

After over fifteen years practicing intellectual property law—a field where ambition, perfection, and resilience are measures of worth—I made the difficult decision to step away. It was, in part, a choice, and in part, a necessity. Due to the extent of my injuries—recovery from which is still ongoing—I was no longer able to do the job I once did. That reality opened the door to something new. I chose to pursue work that is healing and nurturing, work that supports my recovery and feels more aligned with the life I want to live. A path rooted in meaning, heart, and helping others who are struggling silently under the weight of success.

Just like a caterpillar must dissolve before becoming something new, I, too, am in the chrysalis, disintegrating and transforming. It’s messy and uncertain. I might emerge as a butterfly, or a moth, or something entirely unexpected. I’m walking this path with deep faith in myself and the joy and meaning that guides me.

Now, as an accredited Integral Coaching® Canada professional coach, I hold that faith gently for others, until they can hold it for themselves. I work with lawyers and other professionals, high performers and achievers, and others who feel stuck, burnt out, or disconnected. Together, we gently untangle the patterns that no longer serve and reconnect with a more integrated, authentic way of being. My work is about helping people come home to themselves—navigating life with more ease, confidence, peace, and joy.

I bring my whole self to this work: my years in law, my lived experience of burnout and recovery, and my unwavering belief that change is not only possible—it can be a source of profound liberation.

I live in Rossland, BC with my beloved and our three dogs, where we embrace life with a love for laughter, adventure, and finding humour in the struggle. I’m an Ironman® and Iditarod Trail Invitational™ finisher who has always believed in the power of challenge to reveal our deepest strength. These days, I’m most curious about how we can meet those challenges with grace, compassion, and a sense of wholeness.

I believe in the power of the pause. And I believe in your ability to come home to yourself.

Free to Flourish: Cultivate Work-Life Harmony For Success and Happiness and the Beyond Burnout workshop are a culmination of the practices, science-backed concepts, and reflection questions that were pivotal in my own recovery. These tools not only helped me rediscover balance, joy, and purpose, but they have also guided my clients—and countless others who have fully embraced them—toward profound transformation. In Free to Flourish and Beyond Burnout, I share the exact strategies that helped me reclaim my life and offer a trail map for anyone ready to let go of the pressures that hold them back to start living with greater ease and fulfillment.

I gratefully acknowledge that I live, work, and play on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Sinixt People and Syilx People of the Okanagan Nation and honour all other Indigenous people who walked on and cared for these lands before us and continue to do so.
