what is coaching?
"In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or to step back into safety."
–Abraham Maslow
Coaching is a method for personal change and growth that is deeply rooted in the present. It starts with “what is” and develops a program for moving forward that is informed by, but not focused on, the past. Following Integral Coaching® methodology and my unique approach, I will help you to gain awareness of and insights into how you currently approach life and the limitations that poses. Through powerful questions, you will gain clarity and make sense of patterns and your stuck places. Personalized development objectives and actionable practices will challenge you to see and be in a new, desired way and help you achieve lasting, purposeful change.
At its core, coaching is about deep self-inquiry, mindset shifts, and intentional action. I provide structured guidance, accountability, and a safe space for exploration so you can break through limiting beliefs, develop new perspectives, and take meaningful steps toward living a life that feels more aligned, fulfilling, and truly yours. Coaching is a collaborative process designed to help you grow, evolve, and step into your full potential. It’s about closing the gap between where you are now and where you want to be—whether in your career, relationships, or overall well-being.

From Exhaustion, Overwhelm & Burnout to Peaceful Independence & Belonging
Anna W., Vancouver, BC Focus: Trusting Her Heart and Saying Yes to Joy Before Coaching: Life as the Responsible Chameleon When Anna entered coaching, she was exhausted by a difficult work environment where she had spent years adapting herself to meet the needs and expectations of others. As the “Responsible Chameleon,” Anna had mastered the art of supporting others—often at the cost of her own joy. “I feel like I’ve abandoned myself,” she said. “I’ve given too much to the wrong people and lost sight of who I really am.” At that time, Anna was profoundly burnt out and disconnected from her own heart. She wasn’t even sure what brought her joy anymore. Though highly capable, reliable, and respected, she was internally exhausted, yearning for deeper connection, vitality, and the courage to live from her true self. The fear of “getting it wrong” kept her stuck. The Coaching Journey: Finding Joy Anna’s coaching journey centered on helping her reconnect with her heart and desires. Through self-observation and gentle exercises that prioritized joy and, she began to recognize when the Responsible Chameleon was leading and to gently choose a new way. By tuning into her feelings, trusting her wise heart, and allowing herself to be seen, Anna started rebuilding her life from the inside out—slowly, intentionally, and bravely. After Coaching: Embracing the Way of the Courageous Desert Bloom Anna’s life has blossomed in extraordinary ways. She is no longer hiding her heart behind control and composure; instead, she is living with open-heartedness, adventure, and joy. Anna has built new, supportive relationships rooted in trust and communication—relationships where she is seen and cherished for who she is. •She hiked the ancient trails of Machu Picchu. •She traveled across the world to explore Japan with her beloved. •She reconnected with nature, vitality, and a spirit of possibility she hadn’t felt in years. Anna’s once-dormant seeds have flourished. She is saying yes to herself, to adventure, and to the vibrant life she always deserved—and she is inspiring others by her example. “I’m learning that the decisions that come from my heart are ‘right,’ no matter how they turn out.” The drought is over. The desert is in bloom. Key Shifts: •From adapting to others to honouring her own joy and needs •From exhaustion to vitality, travel, and adventure •From fear to connection, trust, and love •From survival mode to flourishing romantically In Her Words: “After years of feeling overwhelmed and disconnected, I’m finally living in a way that feels true to my heart. I’m learning to trust that following what lights me up is always enough.” Anna’s story reminds us that even after long seasons of drought, with courage and care, breathtaking beauty can bloom—not just within us, but all around us.

Many plans reimburse services under health spending or personal development accounts. Some employers also offer professional and leadership development funds. Coaching isn’t just a personal investment—it can strengthen clarity, confidence, leadership, and long-term sustainability, which benefits both you and your organization. It’s worth checking with your HR or benefits provider—you might have access to support that can help you move forward with greater purpose and balance.
